Griak Recap
Published by
Well Griak was definitely not one of my best races. I was actually very disappointed with how I ran. I ended up getting 33rd place with a time of 23:53. The conditions were great-weather, competition, course, etc. My legs just didn't have it this weekend. I hate making excuses, so I'm just going to chalk this up to a bad race and move on. As much as I wanted to do well here, Griak really doesn't matter in the scheme of things. It's only September still, and the Championship season has not started yet. I just hope I can step it up when it counts. The day wasn't all bad. My teammate and friend Marie won the race, which was awesome because the last 2 years she's gotten 2nd here. Our team ended up getting 4th, which wasn't too bad. I felt bad because if I would've done better we could have at least been 3rd, but despite my bad race, we still finished as the top team in our conference and region. For the guys, Dan Greeno got 2nd, which I know he was disappointed with but he ran a tough race. And our guys team got 14th. Next up for us is Eau Claire this friday. I'm excited because it means a day off of work. It is also a much lower key meet than Griak, but will still have some great competition so I will have a chance to redeem myself. I hope everyone is having a good week! P.S. If you watch the RunnerSpace video of the Maroon Women's DIII Griak race, you can see me finishing at about the 4:25 point. |
